Azam Ismail is a visual artist and illustrator from Singapore. Graduated with a Bachelor's (Hons) degree of Fine Arts, The Open University UK, his works are multidisciplinary with a profound focus on illustrations and paintings. His depictions of subjects are his pursuit of keeping up with the fleeting and ephemeral state of things. Mostly results of marrying concepts and the intangible with reality, his works manifest into people and places, many of which only exist on his canvases, often enigmatic and fragmented. Not unlike accidental shots in a roll of film, or shots captured by a trigger-happy child with a camera, his images become a constant attempt of visual narration of endless fragments of the human experience. Like puzzle pieces with a futile sequence, of a vibrant yet elusive picture.
